The Zorats’s St.Astvatzatzin church is located in the Vayots Dzor district, on Yeghegis village’s eastern part. According to the inscription on the eastern wall, it was built in 1303 by the grandson of the Tarsaitch ruler - the archbishop Stepanos Syunyats. It consists of only one altar and two attached side-chapels. The church was surrounded by walls. There is a supposition that the church was built for the the campaigning marching army.
